ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a meeting with Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, strongly criticized India for making baseless accusations against Pakistan regarding the recent Pahalgam incident.
He stated that India has failed to present any credible evidence linking Pakistan to the attack.
The meeting, held on May 3, 2025, at the Prime Minister House, also served as an opportunity for PM Shehbaz to convey his appreciation to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish government for their unwavering support during the ongoing regional crisis.
Reflecting on his recent visit to Ankara, the Prime Minister emphasized the deep-rooted, brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye. He praised Turkiye’s consistent efforts to promote peace and welcomed its principled call for de-escalation in the region.
Addressing the Pahalgam matter, the Prime Minister condemned India’s unilateral and provocative actions, stating that the country had not only acted without evidence but also continued to level false accusations against Pakistan.
He further revealed that Pakistan had officially offered to participate in a transparent, impartial international investigation into the incident but had yet to receive a response from New Delhi.
PM Shehbaz extended an invitation to Turkiye to join such an inquiry process, reaffirming Pakistan’s full commitment to cooperate in uncovering the truth.
