ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will leave for Saudi Arabia this evening on a two-day official visit. A high-level delegation will accompany the prime minister Shehbaz Sharif during the visit.
Meanwhile, the trip reflects continued engagement between Islamabad and Riyadh on regional and bilateral matters.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz will hold an important meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Both leaders will discuss ways to further strengthen Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations.
They will also review the evolving regional situation and exchange views on major security developments. Furthermore, discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors.
According to sources, the meeting will cover the ongoing Iran-United States conflict. Both sides will also discuss diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and preventing further escalation.
The visit comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran. Therefore, Pakistan continues engaging regional and international partners through diplomatic channels to support stability.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and prosperity during a telephone conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
During the call, the prime minister strongly condemned Houthi attacks targeting Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea. He described those attacks as unacceptable and contrary to international law.
Moreover, he said such actions threaten freedom of navigation, disrupt commercial shipping, and undermine regional peace and security. Consequently, he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to standing beside Saudi Arabia.
Premier expressed solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the conversation. Pakistan’s armed forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Pakistani nation support the Saudi leadership and people during this challenging period.
