Pakistanโs Prime Ministerโs Apna Ghar Program has received 107,000 housing finance applications. The scheme offers subsidised loans for home construction and purchases.
Under the initiative, eligible citizens can obtain housing loans of up to Rs. 10 million. The program aims to help non-homeowners secure affordable housing.
The State Bank of Pakistan announced fresh details on Wednesday. Moreover, banks have been directed to facilitate all eligible applicants.
All Non-Homeowners Eligible for Subsidised Housing Loans
SBP Executive Director Ghulam Muhammad Abbasi said all Pakistani citizens without a house can apply. Furthermore, commercial and microfinance banks are accepting applications nationwide.
Applicants up to 65 years of age remain eligible under the scheme. Additionally, no profession has been declared ineligible for participation.
Abbasi said journalists, lawyers, judges, military personnel, and policymakers can apply. Overseas Pakistanis can also benefit from the housing finance initiative.
Moreover, up to four individuals may jointly apply for a single loan. Older applicants may partner with employed family members to meet repayment requirements.
Both salaried and non-salaried individuals can submit applications. Therefore, income documentation does not determine eligibility for the scheme.
