Pakistan International Airlines has strongly denied all circulating rumors regarding a PIA flight that allegedly narrowly escaped a missile strike near Fujairah.
Confusion Arising from Unverified Information
At first glance, several media houses claimed that a PIA flight was in danger of a missile strike while landing in the UAE. However, PIA immediately rejected these claims. It stated that no such incident occurred. Moreover, the airline clarified that its representatives had made no such announcement.
In response, PIA emphasized responsible journalism. It also discouraged the spread of rumors, especially in critical times. This risk amplifies when regional tensions are high.
Adjustments in PIA Flights due to Regional Tensions
Meanwhile, PIA confirmed that they temporarily suspended their operations to Fujairah for 48 hours due to the prevailing situation in the Middle East.
For now, the airline has shifted its UAE operations to Al Ain. The officials have assured that the safety of passengers is their top concern, and changes will be made based on further security investigations.
Although the claims were circulating on social media, the authorities have assured the public that there was no threat of a missile attack on any of the PIA flights.
