ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan International Airlines has launched direct flights from Karachi and Lahore to Azerbaijan’s capital Baku.
PIA spokesperson said two flights will be operated to Baku in a week, one from Karachi and the other from Lahore. The first one, from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, took off on February 16 while the second flight will department from the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore on March 19.

The flights were started on demand of citizens from both Pakistan and Azerbaijan, PIA’s spokesperson said, adding Baku has become a popular tourist destination.
“Passengers will now be easily able to travel to the city directly from Karachi and Lahore.”

Meanwhile, PIA has also announced its plan of starting direct flights to Sydney, Australia very soon. Initially, PIA will operate two direct flights to Sydney in a week.
