Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has selected renowned fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, popularly known as HSY, to create new uniforms for its cabin crew.
The airline announced that the collection will debut on October 31, 2026, during its inaugural Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flight from London to Islamabad.
HSY Brings Pakistani Fashion to International Skies
The new uniforms will combine traditional Pakistani craftsmanship with modern fashion.
PIA aims to create a stylish appearance while ensuring comfort for cabin crew members during long flights.
The designs will feature breathable fabrics, structured tailoring, and practical details that allow easy movement.
HSY expressed pride in designing uniforms for Pakistan’s national airline. He said the collection would reflect Pakistani hospitality, cultural heritage, and national identity.
PIA Selects HSY After Fashion Competition
PIA selected HSY following a competitive fashion showcase in Karachi.
Ten leading Pakistani designers presented their uniform concepts before a panel of fashion and industry experts.
The airline’s spokesperson, Abdullah Hafeez Khan, described the new collection as an important step in PIA’s transformation.
PIA Revives Historic Fashion Legacy
PIA has previously worked with internationally recognized designers.
French designer Pierre Cardin created the airline’s famous uniforms in 1966. British designer Hardy Amies later contributed designs during the 1970s.
More recently, Pakistani designer Nomi Ansari influenced PIA’s cabin crew appearance.
The upcoming collection will continue this fashion tradition while introducing a refreshed identity.
PIA hopes the new uniforms will strengthen crew confidence and improve its international image.
The October 31 debut will mark another milestone in the airline’s ongoing rebranding efforts.
