Travelers Demand Immediate Distribution
Passengers of Saudi Airlines flight SV-5728 staged a protest at Islamabad International Airport on Wednesday.
The protest began after passengers were reportedly not provided Zam Zam water upon arrival.
Many travellers returning from Saudi Arabia expressed anger over the delay.
They demanded immediate distribution of the sacred water.
According to sources, the situation caused frustration among passengers, especially those who had travelled from distant areas.
Airport Administration Gives New Date
Airport officials informed the passengers that Zam Zam water would be provided on June 29.
Authorities assured the travellers that arrangements were being made to resolve the matter.
However, many passengers rejected the explanation.
They said returning to the airport on another date would be difficult and costly.
Several passengers complained that they had come from remote areas and could not travel back just to collect the water.
Talks Continue to Resolve Issue
Sources said negotiations between the passengers and airport authorities continued after the protest.
Officials were trying to reach a solution and calm the situation.
Passengers urged the airline and airport administration to ensure timely delivery of Zam Zam water to all eligible travellers.
They also called for better coordination so such issues do not happen again.
Airport authorities have not yet issued a formal statement regarding the delay.
The incident has raised concerns over passenger facilitation and arrangements for travellers returning from Saudi Arabia.
