Paris Jackson, daughter of late pop legend Michael Jackson, has asked a Los Angeles court to order the transfer of $600 million from her father’s estate to a family trust intended for her and her two brothers.
According to court documents filed on October 29, Paris alleges that the Michael Jackson Family Trust has remained unfunded for more than 17 years despite the estate generating billions of dollars through business deals, music rights and asset sales.
The 28-year-old singer claims that estate executor John Branca has maintained control over the distribution of funds, preventing the beneficiaries from receiving their intended inheritance.
Paris argues that approximately $600 million remains available for distribution after accounting for potential liabilities. She also maintains that her father’s will intended his children to receive income from the trust after turning 21.
However, the estate has rejected allegations of withholding inheritance, saying unresolved legal matters, including an ongoing dispute with the US Internal Revenue Service over taxes and penalties, have delayed full distribution.
The estate also maintains that more than $200 million has already been distributed for the beneficiaries.
A court hearing on Paris’s latest request is scheduled for December 4.
