ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Agricultural Research Council and China’s FAMSUN Group signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to setup a technology display park at PARC. PARC Chairman Dr Syed Murtaza Hassan and FAMSUN Chief Executive Officer Jack Chen signed the agreement.
The initiative will promote agricultural research, innovation, technology transfer and professional training. It will also connect government institutions, universities, industry and investors.
Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain supported the initiative. He said the project would help modernize Pakistan’s agriculture through international partnerships.
Moreover, the proposed park will showcase advanced agricultural engineering solutions for researchers, farmers, entrepreneurs and private businesses. It will also encourage knowledge sharing and investment.
FAMSUN to Support Food Security and Technology Transfer
The development follows a meeting between Rana Tanveer and a FAMSUN delegation led by Jack Chen.
During the meeting, Pakistan invited FAMSUN to establish a high-tech silo network nationwide. The project aims to reduce post-harvest losses and strengthen food security.
The company was also encouraged to explore local manufacturing and machinery assembly. Additionally, officials proposed establishing a pilot demonstration silo at PARC.
Meanwhile, Andrabi called the agreement a historic achievement for PARC. He said the park would connect scientific research with modern industrial technologies.
Chen praised Pakistan’s agricultural potential and reaffirmed FAMSUN’s commitment to a long-term partnership. He also pledged cooperation in knowledge sharing, innovation and sustainable agricultural development.
