Trade Activity Grows Despite Regional Uncertainty
Pakistan’s imports from Iran increased by 17 percent year-on-year during the first two months of the fiscal year 2026-27, reaching $248 million.
According to official data, Pakistan imported goods worth $212 million from Iran during July-August of the previous fiscal year.
The latest figures show an increase of $36 million compared with the same period last year, despite ongoing regional economic uncertainties.
Iran-Pakistan Trade Shows Consistent Growth
Pakistan’s imports from Iran have continued to expand in recent years.
During fiscal year 2025-26, Pakistan imported goods worth $1.395 billion from Iran, showing a 12 percent increase compared with $1.241 billion recorded in 2024-25.
The import value was $1.037 billion in fiscal year 2023-24, while it stood at $880 million in 2022-23.
Bilateral Trade Maintains Upward Trend
Pakistan’s imports from Iran reached $773.8 million in fiscal year 2021-22.
Earlier figures showed imports of around $518.6 million in 2020-21 and approximately $440 million in 2019-20.
The latest trade data indicates that economic activity between Pakistan and Iran has maintained a steady upward trend despite regional challenges and changing market conditions.
