Digital Portal Draws Strong Response From Pilgrims
Pakistan’s online Hajj registration system has received a major public response.
More than 203,000 intending pilgrims have registered for Hajj 2027 within just 11 days.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a total of 203,722 applicants have completed registration since the launch of the digital system.
More than 180,000 pilgrims registered through the official web portal. Around 24,000 applicants used the mobile application.
The government says the digital system is designed to make Hajj registration easier, faster, and more transparent.
The portal allows citizens to complete registration from home. Applicants no longer need to visit designated offices for the initial process.
Government Hajj Scheme Receives Most Applications
Most applicants have selected the government Hajj scheme.
More than 154,000 people registered under the government scheme. Around 49,000 applicants opted for the private Hajj scheme.
Punjab recorded the highest number of registrations with 95,000 applicants.
Sindh followed with 63,000 registrations. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded 28,000 applications.
Islamabad reported 9,000 registrations. Balochistan recorded 5,500 applicants.
Azad Kashmir received 1,200 registrations, while Gilgit Baltistan recorded 600 applicants.
The data also shows interest in future years. Around 1,400 people showed interest in Hajj 2028. Another 250 registered interest for 2029, while 350 showed interest for 2030.
Of the total registrations, 119,000 applicants are men. Around 84,500 are women.
Online Payments Introduced for Hajj Applicants
The Ministry of Religious Affairs said the new system also includes digital payment facilities.
A spokesperson said the online payment system was introduced on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Applicants will be able to pay Hajj dues through the 1LINK payment network.
This will reduce dependence on physical bank visits. It will also make the application process more convenient for pilgrims.
The ministry said the digital framework covers the full Hajj process. This includes registration, payment, and future updates.
The system has also been opened for overseas Pakistanis. They can register for Hajj 2027 and pay their expenses remotely.
Officials said more details about Hajj packages, balloting, payment schedules, and operational arrangements will be announced in the coming months.
The ministry has urged remaining applicants to complete registration through the official online portal within the announced deadline.
