Najran: At least 11 civilians, including one Pakistani national, suffered injuries after Houthi rebels launched an attack on the southern Saudi city of Najran, Saudi authorities confirmed. The strike reportedly targeted civilian areas and caused multiple casualties. Authorities immediately responded and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. However, officials have not disclosed the condition of the injured Pakistani citizen.
The injured include seven Saudi citizens, one Yemeni national, two Egyptian nationals, and one Pakistani citizen. Saudi officials strongly condemned the attack and described it as a serious threat to regional peace and stability. Moreover, they pledged to continue protecting civilians against similar attacks. The Pakistani embassy in Riyadh is expected to provide further updates on the injured Pakistani citizen.
Saudi intelligence also warned of possible future attacks against the Kingdom. Officials claimed intelligence reports suggest a pro-Iranian group is preparing additional strikes. They said Iraqi militias and Houthi Revolutionary Guards could launch attacks under the group’s guidance. Furthermore, security agencies detected drone and missile movements that raised concerns over potential attacks on energy facilities, airports, and ports.
Meanwhile, Saudi authorities reaffirmed their commitment to defending the Kingdom against any aggression. They stressed that security forces remain on high alert across sensitive locations. At the same time, officials said diplomatic contacts continue with all relevant parties, including Iran. They added negotiations appear to be progressing positively despite the latest security challenges.
