An all-girls team from Lahore Grammar School (LGS) 55 Main have won the Global Future Space Scholars’ Meet 2026 in Beijing. The Pakistani students successfully secured the championship title and earned several individual and team awards.
The students proudly represented Pakistan at the prestigious international competition. Their victory highlighted the country’s growing presence in science, technology, and innovation-based global events.
LGS Team Claims Global Championship
The winning team included Alina Imran, Amna Ahmed, Areeba Shakeel, Eshaal Haroon, Fatima Farukh, Mariam Abdul Rahman, Shanzay Umar, Sheza Imran, Umayma Fatima, Wania Saqib, Zahra Fatima, and Zainab Tahir. Teachers Amina Sabahat and Nadeem Anwar accompanied and mentored the students throughout the competition.
The Global Future Space Scholars’ Meet is an international engineering and space-focused event. It combines science, business, design, communication, and problem-solving through challenging team projects.
The finals took place in Beijing from August 13 to 17. Organisers welcomed 260 students from nine countries. Moreover, the wider competition attracted participants from more than 17 countries and regions.
Pakistani Teams Shine on International Stage
During the final round, organisers placed students into multinational teams. Each team worked as a virtual company and developed a space-related proposal within 24 hours. They then presented and defended their projects before a judging panel.
Pakistan fielded participants from LGS 55 Main, LGS 14-C, and LGS Phase 5. Meanwhile, LGS Phase 5 achieved another impressive result by securing second runner-up position, equivalent to third place. The team shared the ranking with three international teams.
The strong performances reflected the dedication and talent of Pakistani students. As a result, Pakistan achieved two major finishes at one of the leading student space competitions in the world.
