Rupee Maintains Consistent Gains Against Dollar
According to currency market data, the rupee has strengthened gradually over recent months. On October 8, the local currency settled at Rs 277.01 against the dollar before improving slightly in Friday’s session.
At its current pace, the rupee could approach the Rs 276 level in the coming days. However, exchange rate movements will depend on market conditions and other economic developments.
The rupee’s recent performance also reflects a period of relative stability in the interbank foreign exchange market. Nevertheless, daily movements remain modest, with Friday’s gain amounting to just one paisa.
Rupee Records Mixed Performance Against Other Currencies
Meanwhile, the Pakistani currency recorded mixed results against other major international currencies on Friday. It lost Rs 1.30 against the British pound and 61 paisas against the Australian dollar.
Similarly, the rupee weakened by Rs 1.05 against the euro and 41 paisas against the Canadian dollar. These movements indicate that the local currency’s performance varied across different foreign exchange markets.
In contrast, the rupee gained one paisa against the UAE dirham and remained stable against the Saudi riyal. Market participants will continue monitoring these movements alongside the rupee’s performance against the US dollar.
