Thai Woman Reports Alleged Assault While Travelling With Daughter
Thai authorities have detained a 30-year-old Pakistani passenger following an alleged sexual assault aboard a flight to Bangkok.
The complainant was travelling with her four-year-old daughter. Reports said her journey began in Milan and continued through Dubai before the final flight to Thailand.
The 33-year-old woman alleged that the passenger seated beside her touched her inappropriately while she was asleep.
She said she had fallen asleep with her daughter resting on her lap during the flight. She later woke after feeling physical contact and noticing the man looking towards her.
According to her account, the passenger then appeared to adjust the entertainment screen in front of his seat. However, she claimed his behaviour remained suspicious.
The allegations have not been proven in court. Thai authorities are continuing their investigation.
Cabin Crew Alert Police Before Bangkok Arrival
The woman reported the alleged incident to the cabin crew before the aircraft landed in Bangkok.
Flight attendants questioned the passenger and informed Thai law enforcement authorities while the aircraft was still in the air.
The complainant alleged that the man initially denied wrongdoing. She claimed he later admitted his actions, repeatedly apologised and pleaded for forgiveness.
She also said other passengers travelling with the accused asked her to forgive him.
The cabin crew reportedly described the allegation as serious and told those involved that police would handle the matter.
To protect the woman’s young daughter from the confrontation, flight attendants moved the child to another seat for the remainder of the journey.
Police officers boarded the aircraft after landing and took the passenger into custody.
Thai reporting said the Tourist Police, Immigration Bureau and Don Mueang Police Station were involved in handling the case. The passenger remained in immigration custody while investigators recorded statements and examined the allegations.
Passenger Remains Under Investigation as Woman Seeks Legal Action
The accused had reportedly not completed entry procedures for Thailand when authorities detained him.
Investigators began recording a detailed statement from the complainant. They are also expected to review evidence and speak with airline employees and other passengers.
Thai police may attempt mediation under local procedures. However, the complainant said she intends to pursue legal action and seek financial compensation.
She publicly discussed the case to encourage women travelling alone to report harassment immediately.
The woman said passengers should alert cabin crews without delay when they feel unsafe or experience inappropriate behaviour.
Flydubai declined to provide detailed comments because of passenger privacy and the continuing investigation.
The airline said the safety and security of passengers and crew remained its highest priority.
No final charges or court findings had been announced. The accused is entitled to due process, and the allegations remain subject to investigation by Thai authorities.
