Pakistani boxer Qudratullah has reportedly gone missing in Glasgow after competing at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. Federation sources said he disappeared nearly six hours before Pakistan’s contingent departed for home.
Officials last saw the boxer inside his hotel room at around 2am. However, they discovered he was missing during the team’s scheduled departure preparations.
The national squad planned to assemble in the hotel lobby at 9am before leaving for Pakistan. Team officials checked Qudratullah’s room after he failed to report. However, they found the room empty.
Sources also confirmed that the team manager still holds the boxer’s passport and return ticket. Therefore, authorities have launched efforts to determine his whereabouts.
Federation Confirms Disappearance
Pakistan Boxing Federation sources confirmed the incident shortly after the team’s scheduled departure. Officials have not disclosed any possible reason behind the disappearance.
Meanwhile, the federation continues gathering information about the incident. Last year, boxer Zohaib also reportedly disappeared during Pakistan’s international tour of Italy.
Similarly, another national boxing squad member previously went missing while travelling abroad.
Pakistan Ends Games With Single Medal
Pakistan finished the 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign with only one medal. Boxer Fatima Zahra secured bronze in the women’s 60kg category.
Consequently, she became the first Pakistani female boxer to win a Commonwealth Games medal. Organisers also selected her to carry Pakistan’s flag during the closing ceremony.
Meanwhile, Pakistan recorded its lowest Commonwealth Games medal tally since 1998. The country’s only other poorer result came in 1990 without any medals.
Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem also missed the podium despite carrying Pakistan’s flag during the opening ceremony. As investigations continue, officials hope to locate Qudratullah and clarify the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
