Elections
In the wake of twin blasts in the Pishin and Qila Saifullah areas of Balochistan claiming 26 lives, Jan Achakzai, the caretaker Information Minister of Balochistan, affirmed on Wednesday that Pakistan is resolute in thwarting any attempts by terrorists to disrupt the upcoming 2024 elections.
The explosions prompted Achakzai to declare that India is a terrorist state, pointing to the involvement of outlaws linked to the Machh attacks in orchestrating the blasts within the province. Despite the tragic incidents, Achakzai underlined that the scheduled elections would proceed without hindrance.
He attributed the motive behind the attacks to the terrorists’ desire to create panic and undermine the electoral process slated for the next day. In the face of this threat, he reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to pursuing terrorists relentlessly until each one is eliminated, emphasizing that they will not allow any compromise on the democratic process.

Jan Achakzai’s statement serves as a reassurance to the public, affirming that the government is firmly dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and preventing terrorists from derailing it.
The twin blasts, occurring in PB-47, Pishin, and PB-3, Qila Saifullah, resulted in a tragic loss of over 25 lives, with more than three dozen individuals sustaining injuries. Notably, the blast in Qila Saifullah occurred at a time when the PB-3 candidate, Maulana Abdul Wasay, was not present in his office.
Despite the challenges, including violent incidents in Sibi, Quetta, Chaman, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, with six deaths and 13 injuries within a day, Jan Achakzai’s commitment emphasizes that the government remains undeterred in ensuring the safety and continuity of the electoral process.
As the nation confronts these security concerns, the caretaker Information Minister’s resolute stance aims to instill confidence and demonstrate the government’s commitment to upholding the democratic values of the nation.
