Pakistan and the United States have agreed to enhance cooperation in the legal sector during a meeting in Islamabad. The discussions also covered bilateral relations and other issues of mutual interest.
United States Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker met Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar on Thursday. According to an official statement, both sides exchanged views on strengthening Pakistan-US relations.
They also agreed to promote greater collaboration in legal affairs. Furthermore, the meeting focused on expanding broader bilateral engagement.
Officials Discuss Regional Peace And Bilateral Relations
The official statement said Natalie Baker appreciated Pakistan’s role in addressing the Gulf conflict. Additionally, she praised the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The statement also said Baker commended the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. However, no further details of the discussions were disclosed.
Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment To Regional Stability
During the meeting, Azam Nazeer Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, stability and diplomacy across the region. He added that Pakistan would continue supporting efforts to strengthen regional peace and security.
The official statement concluded that both countries reached a consensus on expanding legal cooperation. Consequently, the agreement forms part of broader efforts to strengthen Pakistan-US bilateral relations.
