Pakistanโs U19 cricket team secured a confident 8-wicket win over Zimbabwe in Harare. The match was Pakistanโs final group-stage game in the ongoing U19 World Cup. With this victory, Pakistan advanced to the Super Six round of the tournament.
The Green Shirts had started the competition with a 37-run loss against England. However, they bounced back strongly. Pakistan won their next two matches against Scotland and Zimbabwe. The two consecutive wins helped them regain momentum and secure a top spot in the group.
Pakistan finished second in the group rankings, behind England. Under the U19 World Cup format, the top three teams from each group qualify for the Super Six stage. This means Zimbabwe also moved into the Super Six round despite the loss. The Super Six stage will feature two groups of six teams. Each team will play two matches in this round.
Pakistan Bowlers Dominate Zimbabwe Batting Lineup
Pakistanโs captain Farhan Yousaf won the toss and chose to field first at the Takashinga Sports Club. Pakistanโs bowlers delivered a strong performance from the start. Ali Raza led the bowling attack with a standout display. He took three wickets and bowled four maiden overs.
Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan, and Momin Qamar also contributed well. Each of them took two wickets, helping Pakistan restrict Zimbabweโs batting lineup. Zimbabweโs top scorer was Nathaniel Hlabangana, who made 59 runs. However, no other batter supported him. Eight Zimbabwean batters failed to reach double figures.
Pakistan bowled out Zimbabwe for just 128 runs in 35.5 overs. This total was well below par and gave Pakistan a clear advantage. The bowlersโ disciplined performance kept Zimbabwe under pressure throughout the innings.

While chasing the target, Pakistanโs batsmen took control of the game. They reached the total in the 27th over with only two wickets down. The batting display was led by Sameer Minhas, who was named Player of the Match. He scored an unbeaten 74 runs off 75 balls. Minhas hit six boundaries and four sixes during his innings.
Usman Khan and Ahmed Hussain also made valuable contributions. They scored 26 and 24 runs respectively. Their partnership helped stabilize the innings and ensured a smooth chase.
