Education experts view the achievement as a positive sign for Pakistanโs academic sector. The strong performance highlights the ability of Pakistani students to compete successfully against candidates from around the world.
Erasmus Mundus Continues to Open Global Education Opportunities
Pakistan’s latest success follows an impressive track record in recent years. In 2025, 114 Pakistani students secured Erasmus+ Joint Masters scholarships from a global pool of 2,176 selected candidates representing 137 countries.
The country achieved an even stronger performance in 2024 when 189 Pakistani students received Erasmus Mundus scholarships. That year, 2,603 students from 137 countries were selected worldwide.
Funded by the European Union, the Erasmus Mundus programme promotes academic mobility, international collaboration, and cross-cultural learning. Students enrolled in the programme have the opportunity to study at multiple universities across Europe during their master’s degree.
The scholarship covers tuition fees, travel expenses, visa costs, and monthly living allowances. These benefits allow students to focus entirely on their academic and professional development while gaining international experience.
Pakistan’s continued dominance in the Erasmus Mundus programme reinforces its reputation as a source of talented and highly competitive students capable of excelling in global academic environments.
