Full schedule announced as both teams intensify preparations for global tournament
LONDON: Pakistan will tour England for a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series from May 15 to May 26, 2027, with both sides using the contest as a key part of their preparations for the ICC Menโs Cricket World Cup 2027.
The series will begin in Southampton on May 15 before moving to Manchester for the second ODI on May 19. The third match will take place in Leeds on May 21, followed by the fourth fixture in Chester-le-Street on May 23. Meanwhile, the fifth and final ODI will be played in Cardiff on May 26.
The five-match contest is expected to provide both teams with valuable match practice ahead of the World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia from October 4 to November 21, 2027.
Important test before World Cup
The upcoming series will allow Pakistan and England to assess their squads, refine strategies and build momentum before the sport’s biggest 50-over tournament.
With several months separating the bilateral series from the World Cup, players will have an opportunity to adapt to competitive conditions while team managements evaluate combinations and performances.
Pakistan currently occupies fifth place in the ICC Menโs ODI Team Rankings, while England sits seventh, adding further significance to the contest as both nations seek to improve consistency before the global event.
Historic rivalry continues
Pakistan last toured England for a three-match ODI series in 2021. Since then, both teams have undergone significant changes, introducing new players while maintaining experienced performers in their line-ups.
The latest tour will renew one of international cricket’s most competitive rivalries and is expected to attract considerable attention from fans in both countries.
Cricket supporters will closely follow the five-match series, which offers an early indication of each team’s readiness for the 2027 ICC Menโs Cricket World Cup and provides an opportunity to build confidence before the prestigious tournament begins later that year.
