Pakistan has successfully conducted a test launch of the extended version of its indigenously developed Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile. The Inter-Services Public Relations said the test demonstrated the weapon system’s advanced capabilities and marked another development in the country’s defence sector.
According to the military’s media wing, the missile features advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational aids. These systems allow it to engage targets at extended ranges with high precision and lethality, while the test also validated additional technical parameters.
Fatah-IV Test Demonstrates Enhanced Capabilities
ISPR said the test assessed subsystems incorporated to improve the missile’s accuracy and survivability. Senior Pakistan Army officers, along with scientists and engineers from the developing agency, witnessed the launch.
The test received appreciation from the country’s top leadership. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and all service chiefs commended the achievement and praised those involved.
Pakistan Expands Missile Capabilities
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also congratulated the nation and described the extended Fatah-IV test as an important advancement for Pakistan’s defence sector. He praised the scientists and engineers for their efforts in developing and testing the system.
The launch follows earlier tests involving the Fatah-IV and other developed missile systems. In May, the Army Rocket Force Command successfully test-fired the Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile, while it conducted a training launch of the Fateh-II missile system a month earlier.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Navy also tested an anti-ship ballistic missile in April. In September 2025, the Pakistan Army successfully conducted a training launch of the Fatah-IV at a range of 750 kilometres.
