Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has reached the top position in the latest International Cricket Council T20 bowling rankings, becoming the fifth Pakistani bowler to achieve the milestone.
The ICC released its updated rankings with Abrar occupying the number one position among T20 bowlers, adding another significant achievement to his international career.
Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan holds second place in the latest rankings, while Australian spinner Adam Zampa occupies third position.
Meanwhile, England’s experienced leg-spinner Adil Rashid sits fourth, with Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis completing the top five.
Abrar Becomes Fifth Pakistani Bowler to Reach No. 1
Abrar’s rise places him among a select group of Pakistani bowlers who have previously reached the top of the ICC T20 bowling rankings.
Before him, former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul achieved the number one position during his international career. Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal also reached the top spot after establishing himself as a major part of Pakistan’s limited-overs bowling attack.
Furthermore, all-rounder Imad Wasim previously climbed to number one in the T20 bowling rankings.
Former Pakistan captain and leg-spinning all-rounder Shahid Afridi also held the leading position, making Abrar the fifth Pakistani bowler to join the list.
Rashid Khan and Adam Zampa Complete Top Three
The latest rankings place Abrar ahead of several prominent international bowlers, with Rashid Khan providing Afghanistan’s representation in second position.
Additionally, Zampa remains among the leading T20 bowlers in third place, followed by Adil Rashid and Ellis.
Abrar’s ascent to number one continues Pakistan’s history of producing bowlers who have reached the highest position in the ICC’s T20 rankings.
The achievement also marks a major individual milestone for the Pakistani spinner as he establishes himself among the leading bowlers in international T20 cricket.
