Pakistan’s Senate is preparing for a major parliamentary session featuring 84 agenda items, including proposed constitutional amendments and important legislative reforms.
The Senate Secretariat issued the official agenda on Sunday, October 25, 2026. The session will begin at 4pm on Monday, October 26, at Parliament House in Islamabad.
Lawmakers are expected to discuss constitutional changes, criminal justice reforms, vehicle regulations, and several other national issues.
Senate to Debate Constitutional Changes and Key Bills
One of the major proposals seeks to amend Article 140-A of Pakistan’s Constitution and introduce a Sixth Schedule.
The proposed constitutional changes will form an important part of the parliamentary proceedings.
The agenda also includes a motion seeking permission to introduce amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure.
These proposed changes will bring criminal justice legislation under parliamentary consideration.
Meanwhile, Senator Sherry Rehman has submitted a bill proposing amendments to legislation concerning the prohibition of plastic book covers.
The proposal will also feature in the Senate’s legislative discussions.
Another important item concerns the regulation of tinted windows in motor vehicles.
Lawmakers will consider proposed legislation addressing the use of tinted vehicle glass.
Law and Order Issues Also on Senate Agenda
Beyond legislative proposals, the Senate is expected to discuss law and order conditions and other pressing national matters.
The extensive agenda reflects the wide range of policy and legislative issues awaiting parliamentary consideration.
However, the inclusion of these proposals does not guarantee their immediate approval.
Senators will have an opportunity to examine the proposed measures and participate in parliamentary discussions.
The upcoming session is expected to draw attention as lawmakers address constitutional matters, legal reforms, and public policy concerns.
