Pakistan Railways has announced 45 contract-based vacancies for retired employees in its Carriage & Wagon and Loco departments.
The recruitment drive targets retired supervisory and technical staff with relevant qualifications and experience. Selected candidates will initially receive appointments for one year, with the possibility of a further one-year extension.
The maximum age limit for applicants is 62 years. Candidates must also meet the prescribed experience, qualification and medical fitness requirements.

Eligibility Criteria for Retired Employees
Only retired employees who previously worked in the relevant advertised categories can apply. Applicants must fulfil the required educational qualifications and professional experience for their selected positions.
Moreover, successful candidates must pass a physical medical fitness examination conducted at a Pakistan Railways hospital.
Retired employees who were compulsorily removed, dismissed or retired on medical grounds are not eligible for these positions.
Carriage & Wagon Department Vacancies
Pakistan Railways has announced 21 vacancies in its Carriage & Wagon Department. The available positions include TXR/G-II, Foreman/Gr-I, TXR/Gr-II, Sub Engineer-II/Senior Chargeman, Mistry and skilled technical posts.
Candidates with a DAE in Mechanical can apply for several supervisory and technical positions. Some senior posts require up to 20 years of experience in rolling stock repair and maintenance.
Other positions require around 10 years of relevant experience. Candidates with middle-level education can also apply for Mistry and skilled technical roles where specified.
Loco Department Jobs
The Loco Department has announced 24 vacancies across several technical categories.
These include Foreman/Gr-I, Electrical Foreman Diesel Gr-I, AFO/Senior Chargeman, AEFO Diesel, FIC, JCM, S.E.E Diesel, Mistry and skilled technical positions.
Several posts require a DAE in Mechanical along with 10 years of relevant experience.
Meanwhile, Mistry and skilled positions require middle-level education and relevant technical experience.
Salary and Contract Duration
Pakistan Railways will pay selected employees according to their last pay drawn, along with applicable allowances. The relevant pay scales range from BS-06 to BS-14, depending on the position.
The initial contract will remain valid for one year. However, Pakistan Railways may extend the appointment for another year if required.
Selected candidates can also receive postings anywhere within the Pakistan Railways system.

Applicants must submit a typed application containing complete information and attested copies of the required documents.
