Pakistan Railways has released the timetable for five special trains to accommodate the increased travel demand during Eid ul-Fitr. These trains will provide a range of classes, including economy, AC business, and AC standard, ensuring passengers’ various needs are met.
To ensure smooth operations, detailed guidelines have been issued by the Pakistan Railways headquarters to all divisional officers for the effective running of the Eid train services.
In conjunction with this, the federal government has declared public holidays for Eid ul-Fitr from March 31 to April 2. A notification from the Cabinet Secretariat confirmed that these dates have been designated as public holidays by the prime minister for the Eid celebrations. The holiday period, extending from Monday to Wednesday, will allow citizens to participate in the festivities and celebrations.
Additionally, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, along with regional committees, will meet on the evening of Sunday, March 30, 2025 (Ramazan 29, 1446 AH) to observe the Shawwal moon. This sighting will mark the potential end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid ul-Fitr celebrations in Pakistan.
The meeting will take place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, where religious scholars, meteorological experts, and other stakeholders will review moon sighting reports from across the country to confirm the exact date for Eid ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
