Pakistan is preparing for heavy rain and hailstorms in several regions this week. The Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a fresh weather advisory on Wednesday. Consequently, authorities urged residents to remain cautious during changing weather conditions.
Parts of Punjab may receive heavy rain and hailstorms today. Moreover, forecasters expect thunderstorms in several major cities and districts. Islamabad may receive evening showers as weather systems move across the region. Rain is also likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, and the Galyat region. Furthermore, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, and Gujranwala may receive significant rainfall. Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, and Sahiwal also remain under weather alerts. In addition, Jhang, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Multan, and nearby districts may experience storms.
Heavy Rain Forecast for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Met Office also forecast heavy rain and hailstorms across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Areas including Dir, Chitral, Swat, and Kohistan may receive intense rainfall. Likewise, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, and Kohat remain vulnerable to storms. Peshawar, Haripur, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Mardan, and Hangu may also witness unstable weather. Therefore, local authorities continue monitoring conditions across the province.
Sindh and Balochistan Face Mixed Weather Conditions
Most districts in Sindh will likely remain hot and dry. However, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore, and Shikarpur may receive rain. Meanwhile, southern Balochistan will continue experiencing intense heat. Nevertheless, Quetta, Zhob, Sherani, Ziarat, Chaman, and surrounding districts may receive showers. Several northern and central districts may also experience rainfall and thunderstorms.
The Met Office advised citizens to take precautionary measures. Officials warned about waterlogging, slippery roads, and possible travel disruptions. Therefore, residents should stay informed through official weather updates.
