Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf has reaffirmed Pakistan Navy’s unwavering commitment to defending the nation’s maritime frontiers. He declared that the navy stands fully prepared to safeguard every inch of Pakistan’s maritime territory, from Sir Creek to Jiwani.
During his visit to forward posts in the Creeks Area, Admiral Ashraf reviewed operational preparedness and combat readiness of naval units stationed in the region. He emphasized that maintaining strong defence capabilities along the coastline was vital for national security and regional peace.
“We know how to defend our sovereignty and every inch of our maritime frontiers,” he asserted, highlighting the Pakistan Navy’s vigilance and readiness to respond to any threat.
Importance of Maritime Security
Admiral Ashraf stressed that maritime security and the protection of Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) are essential not only for military defence but also for Pakistan’s economic stability. He described these routes as the lifeline of the national economy, supporting trade, energy transport, and connectivity across the region.
He stated that the Pakistan Navy serves as the vanguard of peace and stability in the Indian Ocean Region, ensuring the safety of international maritime routes and contributing to global efforts for secure and free seas.
Strengthening Operational Capabilities
In a major step toward modernization, three 2400 TD hovercrafts were inducted into the Pakistan Marines during the visit. These state-of-the-art crafts enhance mobility and tactical flexibility, allowing operations over multiple terrains including shallow waters, marshlands, and sandy coastlines.
The newly added hovercrafts will provide a strategic advantage by enabling simultaneous operations over land and sea. This capability ensures a swift and effective response during emergencies, border patrols, and anti-infiltration missions.
According to Admiral Ashraf, the induction represents a significant milestone in strengthening the navy’s operational reach. He noted that these platforms will bolster defence in sensitive coastal areas, particularly within the Creeks region.
Vision for a Modern and Resilient Naval Force
Admiral Ashraf praised the Pakistan Navy’s continued progress toward modernization, describing it as a reflection of the country’s strategic vision to enhance defence capabilities. He emphasized that the navy remains steadfast in protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty and contributing to regional stability.
He also underlined that technological advancements, continuous training, and strategic upgrades are critical for maintaining superiority at sea. “From the shores to the deep waters, Pakistan Navy stands strong, ready to defend the homeland,” he said.
Guardian of the Indian Ocean Region
The naval chief reaffirmed that Pakistan Navy is not only a shield for national defence but also a pillar of regional cooperation. Through joint exercises, maritime patrols, and humanitarian missions, the navy continues to promote peace and collective security in the Indian Ocean Region.
He reiterated that the navy’s dedication to operational excellence and modernization ensures that Pakistan remains ready to confront emerging challenges across its maritime domain.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf’s visit to the Creeks Area and the induction of new hovercrafts demonstrate Pakistan Navy’s commitment to a secure and resilient maritime frontier — a crucial component of national defence and economic stability.
