Pakistan, Saudi Arabia And Türkiye Strengthen Cooperation
The three countries established the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement to strengthen collective security and defence cooperation. Subsequently, they created the SPDC to provide a formal platform for consultations on regional developments and cooperation under the agreement.
The meeting comes amid heightened regional tensions, including renewed fighting in Yemen and attacks by Houthi forces targeting Saudi Arabia. Therefore, regional security and defence coordination are expected to remain important issues during the discussions.
Pakistan’s participation reflects Islamabad’s stated commitment to supporting regional peace and stability. Meanwhile, officials continue working to develop the agreement’s institutional and operational framework
