Military Cooperation
Islamabad: In a major step toward enhancing regional military diplomacy and collective security, Pakistan hosted the Regional Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference in Islamabad under the theme “Strengthening Bonds, Securing Peace.” The high-profile event brought together senior military leaders from the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
A day after the conference, Pakistanโs military leadership initiated follow-up consultations with participating states to establish a joint working group aimed at streamlining regional defence collaboration and information-sharing mechanisms.
Held at the invitation of Pakistanโs military leadership, the conference aimed to build deeper strategic ties, reinforce military-to-military cooperation, and promote mutual understanding amid an increasingly complex global security environment.

He underscored the urgent need for collaborative responses to modern security threats, which are increasingly transnational and hybrid in nature.
โIn an era defined by transnational threats and complex hybrid challenges, the imperative for deeper military-to-military cooperation, strategic dialogue, and mutual trust is paramount,โ Field Marshal Munir stated. โPakistan remains fully committed to working with partner nations to build a secure and prosperous regional environment.โ
The conference featured in-depth discussions on pressing regional security concerns, evolving strategic trends in Central and South Asia, and the need for joint efforts to confront emerging threats. Key areas of cooperation included joint military exercises, counterterrorism operations, disaster relief, and the exchange of best practices and training protocols.
Participants lauded Pakistan’s leadership, hospitality, and continued efforts to advance defence diplomacy. They recognized Islamabadโs vital role as a bridge for regional dialogue and a key actor in promoting peace, security, and stability.
The event concluded with a unanimous affirmation of shared principles, including respect for national sovereignty, peaceful coexistence, and a united stand against common threats such as terrorism, cyber warfare, and violent extremism.
In his closing remarks, Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional security and constructive engagement.
