Pakistan has expressed hope that a reported agreement over the Strait of Hormuz will help revive dialogue between Iran and the United States. The Foreign Office said renewed engagement could pave the way for technical-level discussions under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi shared Pakistan’s position during a media briefing. He said Islamabad welcomed developments that support diplomacy and reduce regional tensions.
According to Andrabi, the reported agreement could create favourable conditions for renewed negotiations. Therefore, Pakistan hopes both countries will return to the negotiating table.
Foreign Office Supports Continued Diplomatic Engagement
Andrabi said Pakistan wants technical-level talks between Iran and the United States to resume. He added that continued dialogue remains the best path towards resolving outstanding issues peacefully.
Furthermore, he stressed that diplomatic engagement is essential for promoting stability across the region.
Islamabad Encourages Peaceful Resolution
Pakistan has consistently supported dialogue over confrontation in regional disputes. Consequently, officials believe sustained negotiations can help prevent further escalation.
