Series to Begin in Southampton
Pakistan’s men’s cricket team will tour England in May 2027 for a five-match One-Day International series.
The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed the schedule through an official press release issued in Lahore.
The series will run from May 15 to May 26, 2027.
Southampton will host the opening ODI on Saturday, May 15.
The second match will be played in Manchester on May 19.
Leeds will stage the third ODI on May 21.
The fourth match will take place in Chester-le-Street on May 23.
Cardiff will host the fifth and final ODI on May 26.
World Cup Preparations Take Centre Stage
The five-match series will provide important preparation for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia will jointly host the tournament from October 4 to November 21, 2027.
Pakistan and England will use the series to test their combinations before the global event.
Both teams are expected to give opportunities to senior players and emerging talent.
The extended series will also help team management assess batting depth, bowling options, and fielding standards.
Pakistan are currently placed fifth in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings.
England are ranked seventh in the format.
The series could play an important role in improving the rankings and building momentum before the World Cup.
Pakistan Return for First England ODI Series Since 2021
Pakistan last toured England for an ODI series in 2021.
England won that three-match series, but Babar Azam delivered a memorable individual performance.
The former Pakistan captain scored 177 runs in three matches.
His campaign included an impressive 158-run innings in the third ODI.
The 2027 tour will mark Pakistan’s return to England for a bilateral ODI series after six years.
Pakistan are also scheduled to visit England for a three-match Test series before the ODI tour.
The Test matches will be played from August 19 to September 13.
Pakistan’s busy international schedule reflects preparations across both red-ball and white-ball cricket.
