ISLAMABAD: Pakistan today conducted a successful test of an enhanced range version of the locally developed Babur Cruise Missile 1B.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Director General of the Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General Nadeem Zaki Manj, NESCOM Chairman Dr Raza Samar, Commander Army Strategic Force Command Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali, senior officers, scientists and engineers of strategic organisations witnessed the test launch of the improved missile.
Gen. Manj congratulated the scientists and engineers on โachieving excellence in the domain of cruise missile technology and expressed his full confidence that this test will further strengthen Pakistanโs Strategic Deterrenceโ.

President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and the services chiefs also congratulated the scientists and engineers on the successful launch of the missile.
On Nov 24, Pakistan had successfully conducted a flight test of Shaheen-1A surface-to-surface ballistic missile. According to the ISPR, the test flight was aimed at re-validating certain design and technical parameters of the weapon system.
