Pakistan and China strengthened agricultural trade ties as a grains B2B matchmaking session brought Pakistani rice exporters together with Chinese companies in Guangzhou.
The event brought together 15 leading Pakistani rice exporters and Guangdong-based agricultural businesses. Several participating companies signed purchase order letters of intent and reached preliminary cooperation agreements.
The Pakistan Consulate General in Guangzhou and Guangzhou International Cooperation Center jointly organized the session, according to APP.
A 17-member delegation from the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan represented 15 major exporters at the meeting. Meanwhile, Chinese participants came from agriculture, grain trading, agri-tech, machinery, e-commerce, and supply chain industries.
Talks Focus on Long-Term Cooperation
During the discussions, both sides examined procurement prices, quality standards, cross-border logistics, payment arrangements, and long-term supply agreements.
They also discussed private-label processing opportunities to expand cooperation in the grains sector. Furthermore, several Guangdong companies signed purchase order letters of intent with Pakistani exporters.
The development marked concrete progress in bilateral agricultural trade and created direct communication channels between businesses from both countries.
The Pakistani delegation highlighted the country’s grain production capacity, export structure, and rice supply capabilities. In response, Guangdong companies presented their product ranges, supply volumes, and logistics services.
Meanwhile, the GICC said the platform would help businesses identify new opportunities and strengthen trade connections.
The initiative could support stronger links between Pakistan’s agricultural exporters and Guangdong’s processing and supply chain industries.
