ISLAMABAD: Pakistanโs automobile sales surged around 80% year-on-year in July 2026, marking a strong start to fiscal year 2026-27.
According to the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association, total sales reached 19,818 units during the month.
Sales rose from 11,034 units recorded in July 2025. However, volumes fell 13% from 22,741 units sold in June.
Analysts attributed the annual increase to new market entrants, product launches and stronger auto financing. Meanwhile, pre-budget buying had boosted June sales.
Passenger Cars Lead Market Growth
Passenger cars drove the overall improvement, with sales increasing 141% year-on-year.
Indus Motor Company sold 5,089 units, marking a 53% annual increase. Pak Suzuki recorded 10,120 units, up 175% from a year earlier.
Honda Atlas Cars sold 2,640 units, showing 76% year-on-year growth. Sazgar Engineering reported 663 passenger vehicle sales.
However, monthly sales declined across most assemblers as pre-budget demand faded. Uncertainty surrounding the new auto policy also affected bookings.
Meanwhile, two-wheeler sales increased 39% year-on-year to around 169,713 units. Atlas Honda retained its leading position in the segment.
Truck sales jumped 169% year-on-year, while bus sales increased 14%. Ghandhara Automobiles recorded 111 truck sales, up 247% annually.
Ghandhara Industries sold 424 trucks, marking a 212% year-on-year increase.
However, tractor sales rose only 4% annually to 1,242 units and dropped 59% monthly.
Analysts expect auto sales to maintain positive momentum during FY27. New variants and additional brands could support double-digit industry growth.
