ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani Army responded decisively to unprovoked firing by the Indian Army on Thursday midnight, successfully neutralizing an Indian Army quadcopter drone in the Zafarwal sector.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement, confirming that Pakistani forces took effective action to eliminate the drone, preventing potential harm. The indiscriminate firing by the Indian Border Force resulted in damage to the civilian population in the region.

In swift retaliation, the Pakistan Army reports indicate that Indian soldiers sustained injuries during the exchange of fire. Security experts suggest that this unprovoked firing incident may be related to the recent Qatar court verdict sentencing eight Indian spies, who were members of the Indian Navy, to the death penalty.
These experts also speculate that India may be attempting to divert attention from international scrutiny and embarrassment resulting from targeted killings of Sikhs in Canada. The Indian government’s dramatic firing in Sialkot could be viewed as an effort to shift the narrative away from the observance of Black Day and the ongoing situation in Kashmir.
Despite India’s attempts to change the narrative and counter diplomatic isolation, it’s crucial to recognize that the Pakistan Army has the capability to respond effectively, as demonstrated in the past. Additionally, they successfully thwarted an Indian incursion attempt along the working boundary in Sialkot.
ECP Expected To Confirm January 28 As General Election Date
Meanwhile, the ECP, which has initiated its preparations for the upcoming elections, is expected to formally inform the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) in writing within the next two days.
The ECP’s communication to the SC is in response to the top court’s request regarding the timely conduct of elections. Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, leading a three-member bench with Justices Athar Minallah and Amin-Ud-Din Khan, had remarked earlier in the week that meeting the 90-day deadline for holding elections was “not possible” and expressed dissatisfaction with the preparations of the petitioners.
