Special Committee Approves Gallantry Honours
The federal government has approved civil awards for 78 individuals in recognition of exceptional courage, sacrifice and bravery in service of Pakistan.
The decision was taken during a special meeting of the Committee on Gallantry Awards in Islamabad on Saturday.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired the meeting.
The committee reviewed cases involving individuals who made extraordinary sacrifices or demonstrated exceptional bravery while serving the country.
Following the review, civil awards for 78 individuals were approved.
The government said the honours are intended to formally recognise those whose actions reflected outstanding courage and commitment to national service.
Naqvi Says Recognising Sacrifice Is a National Responsibility
Addressing the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi said honouring people who sacrifice their lives for the country is a national responsibility.
He said individuals who display exceptional courage must also receive proper recognition from the state.
Naqvi stressed that such honours are important for preserving the memory of those who served Pakistan under difficult circumstances.
He said the sacrifices of fallen personnel and the bravery of survivors represent an important national asset.
According to the interior minister, their courage creates a lasting legacy of loyalty, service and devotion to the country.
He added that recognising such individuals also sends a strong message that extraordinary public service and personal sacrifice will not be forgotten.

The latest approval forms part of Pakistan’s system of civil honours for individuals recognised for bravery and distinguished service.
Gallantry awards are used to acknowledge exceptional acts performed in dangerous circumstances and sacrifices made in national service.
