The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the national squads for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka and the ODI tri-series featuring England and Sri Lanka.
Sahibzada Farhan has been appointed captain of Pakistan’s T20I side after leading the team at the recently concluded Asian Games. Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue as captain of the ODI team for the tri-series.
The T20I squad includes Farhan, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Arafat Minhas, Fakhar Zaman, Hasan Nawaz, Khawaja Nafay, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Muhammad Imran Randhawa, Naseem Shah, Razaullah, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Moqim.
The three T20Is will be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 9, 11 and 13.
Salman Ali Agha has been left out of the T20I squad but remains part of the ODI setup. Former captain Babar Azam has also been included in the ODI squad.
Pakistan’s 16-member ODI squad features Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, Arafat Minhas, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Nawaz, Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, Naseem Shah, Razaullah, Saad Baig, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Moqim.
The ODI tri-series will begin on October 18, with Pakistan facing Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi. England will join the competition, while the remaining matches and the October 31 final will be played in Lahore.
The tournament will serve as an important preparation opportunity for the three teams ahead of future international commitments.
