Senior Defence Officials Discuss Regional Security and Bilateral Cooperation
Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to expand defence cooperation in several key areas.
The two countries will explore stronger collaboration in military training, joint exercises, technology and defence production.
The commitment was reaffirmed during a high-level meeting at Air Headquarters in Islamabad on Thursday.
A senior Belarusian defence delegation met Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.
The delegation was led by Major General Muraveiko Pavel Nikolayevich. He serves as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Defence Minister of Belarus.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest and regional security.
They also reviewed existing defence relations and examined new opportunities for military cooperation.
The meeting reflected growing engagement between Pakistan and Belarus in defence and strategic affairs.
Joint Training, Military Exercises and Technology Partnerships Planned
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu reaffirmed the Pakistan Air Force’s commitment to strengthening defence ties with Belarus.
He stressed the importance of increasing cooperation through structured joint training programmes.
The two countries may also expand participation in military exercises and professional exchange initiatives.
The Air Chief highlighted the potential for technological collaboration between the armed forces of Pakistan and Belarus.
He also called for closer partnerships between the defence industries of both countries.
Such cooperation could support knowledge sharing, technical development and joint defence production.
Pakistan has continued to focus on domestic defence manufacturing and technological self-reliance.

The Belarusian delegation received a detailed briefing on the Pakistan Air Force’s operational capabilities.

The delegation was informed about Pakistan’s initiatives to develop indigenous defence systems and reduce dependence on foreign suppliers.
Major General Nikolayevich praised the Pakistan Air Force’s professional standards and operational preparedness.
He appreciated its progress in modern technology and defence innovation.
The Belarusian official also recognised Pakistan’s efforts to build domestic defence capabilities.
He expressed his country’s willingness to broaden cooperation with Pakistan.
Belarus is prepared to explore additional areas of military engagement and strategic partnership, he said.
The discussions indicated that both countries want to convert their political relations into practical defence cooperation.
Future collaboration could include training exchanges, military exercises, technical projects and defence industrial cooperation.
