ISLAMABAD: Pakistan advised its citizens travelling by road to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to obtain double-entry or multiple-entry visas for hassle-free border crossings.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mudassir Tipu urged travellers to secure the required visas before crossing the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan border.
He said some Pakistani citizens had faced difficulties at border crossings because they lacked the necessary visas.
According to the ambassador, resolving such issues with relevant authorities sometimes took between 10 and 14 days.
He said lengthy and complex procedures had caused unnecessary delays and distress for Pakistani travellers.
Therefore, Tipu advised citizens planning road journeys between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to carefully check their visas before travelling.
He also urged travellers to verify all other required travel documents in advance.
The ambassador said proper preparation could help Pakistani citizens avoid complications at border crossings.
He added that advance verification would reduce delays and make travel arrangements easier.
Meanwhile, travellers were advised to confirm visa requirements with the relevant authorities before beginning their journeys.
The guidance comes after some Pakistani nationals reportedly encountered problems while crossing the border between the two Central Asian countries.
Authorities have stressed that travellers should complete all necessary documentation before departure to avoid prolonged procedures and inconvenience.
