LAHORE / ISLAMABAD: In just 11 days, over 63,000 women in the Lahore district applied for learning permits, indicating a significant interest in obtaining driving licenses.
However, the journey to become a licensed driver in Lahore proves to be challenging, with only 20 percent of female applicants successfully passing the final stage of the driving license test.
While female drivers diligently complete tasks such as fingerprints and computerized sign tests, difficulties arise during practical challenges like car reversing, resulting in the low passing rate of 20 percent. Rana Imran, the Sector in charge, acknowledged the feedback from women applicants, underscoring the need for ongoing improvements in the licensing system.
Anam Ali, a female candidate, highlighted the low rate of rule violations among women drivers and emphasized that obtaining a license requires a combination of technical skills and confidence.
As the demand for licenses among women continues to rise, there is a growing call for continuous enhancements to the licensing process to better address the unique needs and challenges faced by female drivers.
