More than 138,000 students have registered for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test 2026. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council announced the latest registration figures on Thursday.
According to the PMDC, the nationwide entrance examination will take place on Sunday, August 16. The test will begin simultaneously across Pakistan at 10:00am.
The council has assigned different universities to conduct the examination in each province. Officials said the arrangements aim to ensure smooth and transparent testing.
Universities Assigned Across Pakistan
The University of Health Sciences will administer the MDCAT in Punjab. Meanwhile, IBA Sukkur has been assigned responsibility for conducting the examination in Sindh.
Khyber Medical University will oversee the test in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Similarly, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences will conduct the examination in Balochistan.
The PMDC also assigned Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University to organise the test. It will oversee candidates from Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Additional Centre Announced for Balochistan Candidates
To facilitate students from Balochistan, authorities will establish an additional test centre in Islamabad. However, the facility will only serve candidates holding Balochistan domicile.
The PMDC said regular registration remained open until July 13. Meanwhile, candidates can still register by paying a late fee until July 18.
Officials urged applicants to complete the registration process before the deadline. They also advised students to follow official PMDC instructions regarding examination schedules and admission requirements.
The MDCAT serves as the mandatory entrance examination for admission to medical and dental colleges across Pakistan each year.
