Outgoing Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov paid a farewell call on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr. Consequently, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
President Zardari praised the ambassadorโs contribution to enhancing the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. Moreover, he described Azerbaijan as a trusted partner with deep-rooted relations based on mutual trust and support.
The president noted that cooperation between the two countries continues expanding across multiple sectors. He also appreciated the ambassadorโs efforts in promoting stronger diplomatic engagement.
President Appreciates Ambassadorโs Contributions
President Zardari acknowledged Khazar Farhadovโs role in the historic state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan in July 2024. Furthermore, he said the visit marked a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.
The president highlighted progress in parliamentary, business, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges. Additionally, he reaffirmed Pakistanโs commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, information technology, climate, tourism, and defence.
Envoy Reflects On Pakistan Tenure
President Zardari congratulated the ambassador on successfully completing his diplomatic assignment. He also wished him success in his future responsibilities.
Farhadov, who will assume his new posting in Malaysia, described Pakistan as his first ambassadorial assignment and his โfirst love.โ Meanwhile, he said he would continue promoting the friendship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
During the meeting, Mrs Tarana Farhadova presented President Zardari with a pictorial book documenting the coupleโs five-year stay in Pakistan.
