Pakistanโs Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has released updated figures regarding Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, outlining significant military developments along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. According to the latest statement, 352 Afghan personnel have been killed, while more than 535 others have sustained injuries since the operation began.
The minister shared the details as tensions remain high following cross-border hostilities. He stated that the operation continues in response to what Pakistan describes as unprovoked aggression by Afghan Taliban forces.
Heavy Losses and Strategic Gains
Tarar reported that Pakistani forces destroyed 130 Afghan check posts during the ongoing operation. In addition, troops have taken control of 26 strategic positions.
Furthermore, 171 Afghan tanks and armored vehicles were destroyed. The armed forces also targeted 41 locations through air strikes. These actions, according to the minister, aimed to neutralize military capabilities used in cross-border attacks.
The figures indicate a large-scale military engagement. However, authorities emphasized that the operation remains focused on security objectives.
Retaliatory Action After Border Escalation
The operation was launched late Thursday night after what officials described as unprovoked firing along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. In response, Pakistanโs armed forces carried out retaliatory strikes at multiple locations.
Military installations in Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, and other areas were reportedly targeted. Officials stated that the strikes aimed to counter aggression and prevent further escalation.
At the same time, the government maintained that the action was defensive in nature. Authorities framed the campaign as necessary to safeguard national security and territorial integrity.
Operation Continues Amid Tensions
Tarar confirmed that Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq remains ongoing. Therefore, further developments may emerge in the coming days.
Security analysts note that cross-border tensions have intensified in recent months. As a result, the current operation marks one of the most significant escalations in the region.
While military engagements continue, officials have not indicated any timeline for the operationโs conclusion. However, they reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to protecting its borders.
Regional Implications
The updated figures underscore the scale of the confrontation. Nevertheless, authorities have not announced any diplomatic engagement alongside the military campaign.
Observers suggest that sustained hostilities could impact broader regional stability. For now, however, the focus remains on ongoing security operations and immediate border control measures.
As Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq continues, the situation along the frontier remains fluid. Officials have signaled that further updates will follow as developments unfold.
