KARACHI: One more public holiday has been announced for next week. This public holiday will be observed in connection with the death anniversary of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
The Sindh government has declared December 27 a public holiday to mark the 18th death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. She was assassinated in a bomb blast in Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi, on 27th of December in 2007.
According to the Sindh government announcement, all government offices and local councils across the province will remain closed on the 27th of December.
A notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department confirmed that provincial government offices, along with autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils, will not operate on December 27.

The provincial administration said the holiday has been announced to pay tribute to the late leaderโs services and legacy.
Earlier holiday in the same week
Sindh will also observe another public holiday earlier in the week on December 25. The date coincides with Christmas and the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.
On December 25, government offices throughout Sindh will remain closed to honor both occasions, in line with the annual public holiday schedule.
