ISLAMABAD: The opposition parties in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) have a legal committee and WhatsApp groups for the security of their MNAs and secure their participation during the vote on a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the National Assembly.
The opposition parties have created several online groups and a legal committee to protect their legislators as they submitted the motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Imran Khan, said sources.

The group leaders from the PML-N, PPP, and JUI-F are in contact with their members and receiving updates on their whereabouts and movements.
Sources further said that each party has its own WhatsApp group, where members are required to send updates, including their live locations.
“The opposition parties would also establish a centralised WhatsApp group wherein all the members would regularly send updates and engage with one another.”
According to sources, the lawmakers have been told to immediately notify their individual group leader if they have any fear of kidnapping or harassment by any government department or agency.
“In such situation, the members of Ansar-ul-Islam of JUI-F will provide the MNAs round-the-clock security, as the Ohad termed the protection of their members is a top priority and some more measures will further be taken,” the sources said.
They said that opposition members have also been advised to contact their respective group leaders immediately if they receive a phone call from particular quarters. According to them, opposition members were instructed to restrict their movements and avoid overseas travel until the no-confidence resolution voting.
The legal committee, it is said, will provide quick legal assistance to any opposition member arrested.
