Nine militants allegedly backed by India were killed in a series of successful counterterrorism operations carried out by Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR detailed that four militants were eliminated during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan. In another engagement in Tank, two more militants were neutralized during an exchange of fire with security personnel. A third operation in the Bagh area of Khyber district led to the deaths of three additional militants.
Security forces recovered a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition from the militants. According to the statement, the group was involved in various acts of sabotage and was receiving external support from India.
Sanitisation efforts continue in the targeted areas to eliminate any remaining threats. Authorities remain committed to eradicating terrorism and dismantling foreign-backed networks operating within the country.
Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for their swift and effective operations. He stated that the elimination of militants linked to Indian-sponsored networks underscored the professionalism and rapid response capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces.
Naqvi lauded the bravery of the personnel involved, adding that the entire nation stands proud of the dedication and valor displayed by its defenders.
