ISLAMABAD: Nikah ceremony of Junaid Safdar, son of Maryam Safdar is being held in London on August 22, 2021. This Nikah ceremony will further strengthen family relationships between Nawaz Sharif and Saif-ur-Rehman families. In a tweet issued late night on Wednesday (Aug 11), Maryam Nawaz, however, said she will not request government to remove her name from ECL to go to London to attend wedding ceremony of her son.
Preparations are under way for holding this Nikah/wedding ceremony in London. Junaid Safdar is son of Maryam Nawaz and grandson of three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif while Ayesha Saif Khan, is the daughter of Saif-ur-Rehman, former head of NAB and a confidant of Sharifs. Sair-ur-Rahman is famous in political circles as Ehtesab-ur-Rahman as he was chairman of NAB during second tenure of Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister.

Saif Ur Rehman is an old friend of the Sharif family during their tough times of NAB investigations. He was an active member of the PML-N and remained a friend of the family. Saif’s daughter Ayesha Saif Khan would be the bride.

According to reports, Saif-ur-Rehman’s daughter is a graduate from a London college. Saif-ur-Rehman, a self-exiled Pakistani politician currently living in Qatar, has been a close aide of Nawaz Sharif during his first and second terms in power. He headed the Accountability Bureau during Sharif’s second term as prime minister. He was also elected senator from the PML-N platform.

Ayesha Saif Khan is a well qualified person. At present she is also working as Director of Redco Textile Limited. She looks after the marketing and planning side of business in support of CEO. Ayesha Saif Khan belongs to a family of famous industrialist of the country. The Nikah ceremony is planned near the Hyde Park Corner in the evening at 6 PM on August 22, 2021. Saifur Rehman is currently living in Qatar with his family. It is expected that Capt. (Retd) Safdar and Maryam Nawaz Sharif will also participate in the Nikah ceremony of their son.
PML(N) vice-president Maryam Nawaz said she will not request the government to remove her name from ECL to participate in wedding ceremony of her son Junaid Safdar in London.
The nikah ceremony of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz’s son will take place in London, but Maryam said she “will not make any request” to the government to seek permission to travel abroad on the occasion.

According to the wedding invite shared on Twitter by the PML-N leader, the nikah of Junaid Safdar with Ayesha Saif Khan, daughter of Mr and Mrs Saifur Rahman Khan, will be arranged on August 22 in London.
Maryam Nawaz also shared card of nikah ceremony of her son on Twitter tonight. She said, “Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the ceremony owing to blatant victimisation, bogus cases and my name on ECL (Exit Control List)”.
There are speculations that Maryam Nawaz can leave the country before this ceremony as the government is expected to allow her to go to London to participate in wedding ceremony of her son.

The invitation card just mentions the nikah ceremony scheduled for August 22, 2021, and it does not indicate traditional rites associated with wedding such as Mehndi, marriage ceremony, and valima, etc.
Some circles believe that if Maryam Nawaz was allowed to go to London, she may not return immediately after the wedding ceremony because two days ago Shahbaz Sharif has been asked to look after party matters, including public rallies and Maryam may spend some weeks or months with her father and PML(N) supremo, Nawaz Sharif in London.
