Pakistan’s armed forces have reaffirmed their readiness to defend the country against any threat, warning that aggression would receive a “swift and decisive response”.
The statement came on Defence and Martyrs’ Day, as the military leadership paid tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives in defence of Pakistan.
Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with senior military commanders, honoured the country’s martyrs and expressed solidarity with their families.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the armed forces remain fully prepared to protect Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national interests.
Military Reaffirms Pakistan’s Commitment to Peace
In its statement, ISPR said Pakistan continues to seek peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
The armed forces also reiterated their commitment to responsible conduct and peaceful coexistence with neighbouring countries.
However, the military stressed that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be interpreted as weakness.
“This commitment, however, must never be mistaken for weakness,” ISPR said.
The military warned that any aggression against Pakistan would be met with a swift and decisive response.
The statement comes as Pakistan continues to emphasise both regional peace and the need to maintain strong defence capabilities.
Military Leadership Pays Tribute to Martyrs
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu joined other senior commanders in paying tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs.
Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Aamer Raza was also among the military leaders who honoured those who lost their lives serving the country.
The armed forces expressed their deepest respect and gratitude to the families of the martyrs and to veterans who served Pakistan with distinction.
According to ISPR, the sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers across battlefields, the skies and the seas represent the highest ideals of duty, honour and national service.
The military said the families of the martyrs continue to demonstrate strength and resilience despite their personal losses.
September 6 Remains a Symbol of National Resolve
The armed forces described September 6 as an enduring symbol of national unity, courage and determination.
The day commemorates Pakistan’s defence during the 1965 war, when the military and civilians stood together in response to the conflict.
ISPR said the sacrifices made by generations of defenders continue to inspire future generations.
The military also paid tribute to those who survived the battlefield and continued serving the country with courage and dedication.
On Defence and Martyrs’ Day, the armed forces renewed their pledge to remain devoted to Pakistan and its people.
ISPR said the sacrifices of the martyrs, the courage of veterans and the resilience of their families would remain a source of national strength and pride.
The armed forces reaffirmed that they would continue carrying out their responsibilities with professionalism, honour and determination while standing united with the Pakistani nation.
