Netflix has unveiled the first official trailer for its upcoming Pride and Prejudice series, giving fans a fresh look at Jane Austen’s beloved romance. The six-part adaptation will premiere on December 3, 2026.
The new series brings Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy’s complicated love story back to the screen. It explores romance, family expectations and the misunderstandings that shape their relationship in 19th-century England.
Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden Lead the Cast
Emma Corrin plays Elizabeth Bennet, while Jack Lowden takes on the role of Mr Darcy. Their characters sit at the heart of Austen’s celebrated story of pride, first impressions and unexpected love.
The supporting cast includes Olivia Colman as Mrs Bennet and Rufus Sewell as Mr Bennet. Freya Mavor plays Jane Bennet, while Daryl McCormack appears as Mr Bingley.
Louis Partridge joins the series as Mr Wickham, alongside Jamie Demetriou as Mr Collins. Other cast members include Rhea Norwood, Siena Kelly, Fiona Shaw, Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery.
Dolly Alderton Adapts Jane Austen’s Classic
Writer Dolly Alderton, known for Everything I Know About Love, has written all six episodes. Meanwhile, Euros Lyn, who previously directed Heartstopper, leads the series as director.
The adaptation revisits the original novel’s themes of love, social status and family pressure. It also explores how mistaken judgments can change the way people understand one another.
First published in 1813, Pride and Prejudice remains one of the most recognised works of English literature. Its enduring popularity has inspired several screen adaptations, including the 1995 television series and the 2005 film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen.
